1. Your Research Data is Yours
You and your institution retain full ownership of all research, experiments, and project data, LabExpra does not claim ownership of your data.
We do not analyze or use your research data at an individual level
2. What We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to operate the platform:
- Account Information: Name, email, organization, role
- Research & Workflow Data: Experiments, processes, materials, inventory, and project records
- Files: Documents, datasets, and attachments you upload
- Usage Data: Login activity and feature usage (to improve the platform)
- Research Domain: Domain or subdomain categories
- Used to improve platform relevance and develop domain-specific features
3. How We Process Data
We process data to:
- Provide and operate the LabExpra platform
- Enable research workflows, inventory, and project tracking
- Generate reports and analytics requested by users
- Provide support and resolve technical issues
- Improve platform performance, usability, and reliability
- Develop new features, modules, and capabilities
- Ensure security and prevent misuse
- We do not process identifiable research data for commercial exploitation or resale
4. How We Safeguard Your Research
We do not access your research data unless:
- you request support, or it is required to resolve a technical issue
- We do not analyze research data at an individual user or institutional level
- We do not use your data to compete with your research

To improve the platform, products and services, we may use:

- LabExpra provides tools to record, process, and visualize research data
- All results, plots, analytics, and derived outputs should be independently reviewed and validated by users
- LabExpra does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or scientific validity of any results or outputs
- LabExpra supports research workflows but does not replace scientific judgment or validation
8. User Responsibility
Users are responsible for:
- the correctness of data entered, configuration of processes and experiments, interpretation and use of results
- Any decisions made based on Platform data are the responsibility of the user or their institution.
9. Data Backup & Export
- LabExpra provides data export features that allow users to download their data from relevant sections of the Platform
- Broader data export or backup access may be available to authorized roles, such as Principal Investigators or Group Heads, based on platform permissions
- Users are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of their data
10. Data Security & Risk
- We implement appropriate technical and organizational safeguards, including secure cloud infrastructure and access controls
- However, no digital system can guarantee absolute security, data may be subject to loss, corruption, or unauthorized access despite reasonable safeguards
- users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials, managing access permissions appropriately, and exercising caution when sharing or storing information through the platform
- unauthorized sharing, disclosure, distribution, or misuse of data accessed through the platform by users is strictly prohibited

LabExpra is designed to align with:
- India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP)
- Europe’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- US data protection expectations

You can:
- Access your data, Correct your data and Request deletion
- Export your data (subject to platform features and permissions)

If you use analytical modules:

- You retain full ownership
- Outputs should be independently validated

LabExpra supports FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) research workflows and reflects widely adopted research data management principles used across global and European research communities, while keeping data under user control.

LabExpra is intended for users 18 years and above.
